The Angst of Change: Moving Forward
I had moments of anxiety and bouts of tears. Fear filled my heart. Just writing this makes my stomach knot.

At some point in our lives, everything changes.  It’s different for everyone but so many women can relate to my story. We spend a lifetime caring for others. Then one day our children move away.  In my case, my husband did too.  His job put him in hours of traffic. As a result, we were living apart during the week.  Suddenly, I was rambling around the family home all alone.  What was once a place of exuberant family activity had become stilted and lifeless.

My life changed but not with just one event. It had started years earlier. A natural progression really. I just didn’t hear anyone else talking about it. Isn’t it time to start the conversation?

I could move but it was such a scary thought. Everything would be different. Whether you’re moving down the block or across the country, moving is not for the faint of heart. It’s so much more than the physical exhaustion you feel. There’s emotional turmoil. Moving is a major disrupter for you, your entire family, and all of your friends. Your dreams become murky.  Despair creeps into the quiet, tired moments.

Finding a new way of living takes time. Fast forward two years and my life is becoming full and complete in new ways. I don’t remember ever seeing so many butterflies as I’ve witnessed this summer.  Their beauty fills me with gratitude and a deep knowing. The miracle of transformation and renewal is waiting for each of us.

Where are you on the path of life? Are you nearing a period of transformation and renewal? Have you ever experienced the anxiety and fear I’ve felt? I invite you to continue the conversation…
Wishing you a lifestyle you love,

 ~ Nancy
