Eco by Cosentino: Environmentally Friendly Countertops, Flooring, & Wall Materials
Cosentino makes a lot of sexy looking countertop, floor, and wall materials. Their Eco product line stays true to the brand image. Sure, it’s made from recycled materials and yes, the manufacturing process uses reclaimed water. But it’s so attractive you may forget all that when you see it in a kitchen, a bathroom, or as flooring.
As designers, we like the unique finishes that are achieved through the use of recycled mirror, glass, porcelain, and earthenware. The non-porous nature of the product means you don’t need to use sealants. And since it’s sold in different thicknesses, you can customize your application.
So what are the down sides? As much as you may want to use this product for your outdoor kitchen, it is not warranted for that application. It can fade in the sun. The manufacturer’s warranty for indoor applications is for 5 years. And it is only sold in slabs so if your project is small, you may end up with more product than you need.
